Statement

I had a crazy quilt kimono as a child. I loved it, and wore it until it disintegrated. I can still see the sumptuous silks and soft velvets and the wonderfully different embroidery stitches embellishing all those pieces. Iíve always wanted to make a crazy quilt, and the idea for the appliquť on my mantle came from that.

I designed the mantle as a collection of my life and work. I am fascinated by the interplay of colors and textures found in nature. Ivory is the color of elegance, antiquity and vintage laces. The woven pieces represent my body of work. The embellishments are from stages in my life and represent people and events important to me.
