Statement
This mask is based on the style of a Venetian Wall Mask. I chose a Jester in Blue to symbolize the way many of us present a happy, bright exterior, saying “I’m fine, thank you” to all-comers, while inside feeling blue -- sad, lonely & depressed. The hat and ruff are worked in traditional bobbin lace stitches, using contemporary metallic threads and fine wires to support the edges. The thought bubbles, inside the head, were printed on Shrink Plastic. |
