Statement
Among the friends in our lives, there is a “Treasured Friend” -- if we are lucky. The most “Treasured Friend” in my life is Joe’s wife. We met in 1971 and I felt an instant connection with her. She is kind, smart, soft, caring and wise AND she always makes me feel good about myself. “Her Joe” was a hunter and when he shot certain birds he would save their beautiful feathers. She is a very gifted artist but after Joe died she gave ME a box filled with these beautiful feathers saying, “I know that you will do something wonderful with these.” Now, nearly 20 years later, I have the inspiration to create a special mask with “Joe’s feathers.” I have not seen my “Treasured Friend” for a long time now but she will always be a part of the person that I am today. This mask is dedicated to my most “Treasured Friend,” Virginia, and “Her Joe.” |
