Statement

Birds have fascinated not only myself but my family for a number of years. With so many photos of family members and birds I wanted to create a place to hold the memories.

You can find the budgies that my kids had when they were young.

Then there are the memories of Bird World in Cairns, Australia where we return just to visit the birds. The warning is “Don’t wear baseball hats” because the birds love to peck the button off the top of the hat. We have lost a hat button or two.

There is also the bird that my father trained to come eat from his hand by feeding it grubs that he was breeding for fishing and the same little bird that came to say goodbye shortly before my father died.

Finally we have what is perceived to be a bird. Even people who know the Australian bush well, at first look have a hard time identifying what type of “bird” the photo captured. Do you know what it is?

Now I have a place to house some of these memories.
