Statement

One little drop falling from the sky.
Soon these drops flow, until the drops form a stream, rippling through our world.

This becomes a rapid; shifting, contouring, and shaping of our geography. It knows no boundaries; it creates its own pathways.

Sometimes it levels, carves and reshapes the world as we know it. In the wake of it, our lives are different. Not always worse, but always different. We rebuild the damaged parts, we put back the pieces, and sometimes that different is better.

The rain does wash the dirt, cleanse the earth, and brings relief to a barren place. The power of this uncontrollable, yet crucial aspect of our lives sculpts paths in ways we have no control over. Ways we might not have chosen. Ways that seem harsh.

Yet after that storm, after the rain has stopped and the rapids have quieted to a trickle, we know that there is a peace and a stillness that comes again… and it gives us hope in the midst of the darkness.
