Statement

Throughout a lifetime, we experience various things. Many times we do not even give thought to what direction we are going. But, in looking back, we can often see a “pathway” that we have taken. It can be a clear path for a long time, a dream we had, a situation we found ourselves thrust into, or any set of circumstances leading us along a path in life.

Some of life’s pathways are interrupted for a time, and then resume. Some are much longer than others. Some are more life-changing and direct us onto “new” paths. The paths are unique to each of us throughout life and have different outcomes. Together they make up a whole, going in many directions, and form the duration of an entire life. This piece is pleated in various ways -- width, length, color, and shape -- to suggest the different paths we might be on. The top and bottom represent the vagueness from which they originate and paths that have not yet been started. So the journey goes!
