Statement
On our way to our first
“Cycles & Circles” meeting, 9/11/01, that devastating historic
event occurred. Although a myriad of ideas germinated, I seemed led back
to the first day of our meeting. I was deeply moved by
the spiritual aftermath following 9/11. I felt the power of hope, eternal
life, and heroism sweeping our country. All were more powerful than
violence, hopeful symbols such as those found in nature. The techniques used were foil transfer, photograph image transfer and machine stitching. The background fabrics are Mickey Lawler’s “Skydyes.” Appliqué, printing with a gold pen, and beads completed the embellishment.
