| Statement
From the very beginning of this project, I envisioned a long flowing dress-like robe that bespoke “Hollywood Glam”. A trip to Taos, NM provided inspiration and some fabric for the gown. I cut strips of fabric and pieced them into squares to give the flounce a scrappy effect. While piecing, some of the silks started to fray and I began to question my sanity. Why did I choose this particular fabric? The beading was difficult and took longer than I expected. It seemed I was constantly running into problems. Never once, though, did I veer from my design objective. I wanted a glamorous robe. Taos Chic is the result of my labor. Does it meet my “glam” expectations? Yes!!
