| Statement
The genesis of my robe stems from my baby coat of embroidered blue silk, a long coat with a yoke and pearl buttons down the front. As the first and oldest child, so elegantly dressed, I must have felt like a little queen. On my robe, symbols of a lioness queen and spirals represent power. The buttons are Venetian and to me symbolize beauty. My intention is to honor the inner queen, expressing spirituality within each of us, either latent or dynamic. It is remarkable to me that this early childhood feeling continues to inspire my art work.
