“Celebration” is part of a body of my work titled “Anonymous Women” featuring laces and doilies that have been collected from friends, thrift stores, and members of my family. The women who made this creative work seldom were recognized and the artists themselves seldom left any accounts of what they made or how they found the time for such activity midst raising families, running farms and homes and being the mainstay of a family. This is my way to honor the work of women’s hands and present it in a contemporary format.
