| Statement
A tea cozy keeps a teapot warm. This Robe Cozy will keep its wearer warm and toasty. The route taken to a creative project is seldom direct. My first idea for either an Imperial Chinese or Japanese robe proved to be exciting but unrealistic at this time. My project was the result of finding a wonderful Turkish coat pattern and then this two-faced quilted fabric. A flower theme seemed natural for a show premiering at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I love flowers so I used quilted fabrics and textile paints to create the flowers, appliquéd by hand to my robe.
