This piece explores two of my favorite subjects: on side one variations on a leaf and shadow photo and on side two old Japanese Kimonos. For both sides I explored creating variations through the use of digital manipulation and printing. Each side explores the concept in different ways.

Pattern---The Kimono side: This side enlarges and recombines kimono fragments into an integrated large piece. It incorporates both hand and machine stitching to play up the pattern elements.

Play—The leaf and shadow side: This side explores many variations of the same image through printing, color and stitching.

It was fun to explore what I could do 10 different ways with two very different kinds of imagery.
