I am lucky enough to be able to spend some time each winter in Florida. The area where we stay is relatively unspoiled and we are often blessed with an abundance of beautiful water birds. One of my favorite visitors is the Great Egret. They frequent our property and one in particular often comes right up to our window looking for a handout.
During the mating season, in an attempt to attract a female, the male Egret “shows” his spectacular plumage. Great white plumes extend from his body making him a magnificent sight to behold. This hat is my tribute to this beautiful bird.
As a wise woman I would say: “The beauty of nature is all around us. Take time to enjoy it!”
