Statement
When I was very young, I wanted to be a ballerina. Actually, what I really wanted was to look like a ballerina. I wanted the tutu, and the pretty ballerina slippers to go with it. My parents took me to Miss Botsford's dancing class, where I learned to twirl, but my dance instructors told me I was too young for the real ballet slippers and I had to wear a plain white leotard. Many years later, I never really gave up my love of frills, and learned lacemaking and metalwork. I still love colors, and pretty beads. Unfortunately I never pursued dancing, but my imagination has led me down many amazing paths. These are the shoes I'll wear when I dance in my mind like a real ballerina. |
