Statement

"Ride a cockhorse to Banbury Cross,
To see a fine lady upon a white horse;
Rings on her fingers and bells on her toes,
She shall have music wherever she goes".
Mother Goose

The inspiration for this shoe was the Mother Goose nursery rhyme. I am a weaver, so I wove the fabric for my shoes. They started out as leather huaraches that I re-covered with pieces of my hand woven fabric. A hand crocheted chain stitch trim provides a unifying element.

I have walked in these shoes and the bells do indeed ring.
