Statement

When starting my day I think about what shoes I will wear. Not because I am some sort of shoe horse like Imelda Marcos but because I have bunions! I think about where I am going, what I will be doing and how much I will be standing or walking.

When I heard our project this year was going to be footwear I immediately thought BUNIONS! Soon I had my red hot idea: comfortable shoes that are soft and cushy. My hot dog idea was cooked up in the mustard aisle of the grocery store. A box of clay and my art supplies got me on a roll and the shoes shaped up at a picnic. I decided the obvious choice for my soles would be paper plates supported by Dr. Scholl inserts.

My artistic journey has taken me from a graphic designer in the corporate world to studio arts teacher. My signature class is called Drawing/Watercolor for those who don't think they can. My lesson - If I want to I can.

Recently, I have begun having my watercolors digitally printed on fabric. It's a whole new printing world and I am relishing it!
