Statement
My shift represents the changes that can come in life with friends or family relationships. Everything appears to be going good. You feel happy, with love and joy. You go along with life, feeling like you are loved and believing that people see your role in the relationship the same way as you see it – one of mutual love, respect and understanding. But then some traumatic event happens that shows you how these same people really feel about you, how they really see you in the relationship and you find out that it is not with the same love and respect that you had for them. And just like that the relationship is changed. You realize that they never saw you with the same eyes, you were there for what they needed from you, not for the shared love and joy that you felt the relationship gave. After years of feeling that the relationship was a joint relationship, it is amazing how overnight everything can change. |
