Creating a bird made out of fiber has been a fascinating experience. As I researched birds I became closer to understanding their habits, for example their chirping, and why they migrate. The research also gave me a new appreciation for the speech. The most fascinating birds that I read about were falcons, eagles, vouchers, hawks, and storks. From all the fabulous information I created a fantasy bird that represents different aspects from several birds.

The materials I used are hand painted fiber painted with bright neon colors, the circles are decorated with paper, fiber and encaustic. I used a group of beads that represented the tongue, referencing the chirping and talking that some birds are capable of doing. My one legged bird shows the strength and sturdiness of their bodies no mater what size they are.
