Statement

I love to travel and shop for mementos of my trips. As I assembled this Treasure Chest I reminisced about the trips I have been fortunate enough to take.
1954: Europe - A gondola spoon in Venice and a cuckoo clock magnet in Switzerland
1955: Denver
1976: Bi-Centennial trip east netted the Liberty Bell and a tiny Mayflower
1978: Atlanta
1980: Europe - A magnet showing the Walls of Babylon exhibited in an East Berlin Museum and a pickle fork from Holland.
1989 – 1990: Australia and New Zealand - A spoon from Tidbinbilla, the International Space Tracking Station and koala figurines from Melbourne
1990: Williamsburg
1992: Peoria
1995 and 1999: Trips to Greece, Turkey, France and Italy
2001: Israel - An Olivewood cup I used for Holy Communion in the Garden of Gethsemane
2000: Duluth
2002: Vancouver, B.C. Canada - WJIF Mantles Exhibit, Totem pole magnet
2007: Scandinavia - A doll in Norway and a little Swedish horse
2010: Metropolis USA - Superman
The treasures are secured by magnets to metal hidden behind the silver lining of the chest.
