Statement

Ever since my childhood I have loved to sew in some form or another. My mother lovingly taught me to make my own clothes at age 12. We always made the finishing touches from some item in her round metal button box, which seemed to hold all sorts of treasures.

My sewing has taken many forms: sewing on buttons, mending, garments, quilts, and finally to art quilts. Somehow buttons were usually involved. It’s always been a joy for me to sew whatever form it took.

As my sewing has changed, so has my “button box”. It is no longer a round tin box, but a three dimensional box made of buttons, and it still holds sewing treasures. I think my mother would approve!
