Statement
Living in the heart of America’s dairy land in Wisconsin, I have developed a true love for the beauty of old barns. We are seeing many family run dairy farms stop production in our area, which means more of the stately barns are not being used. Whenever I see a wonderful barn I stop to take a photo. I want to make sure they are not forgotten. I have been collecting photos of barns for several years. It is sad to see some of the beautiful stately barns deteriorate and be torn down. On the back side of my piece are several photos of barns that are no more. I am so glad I captured these magnificent structures. The background is made from old blue jeans pieced together, similar to the way old barns are patched up to keep them useable. The photos are printed on buckram and sewn to the background. |
