Statement

I have been a member of Women’s Journeys in Fiber since its inception, and have completed all 15 projects. My fifteenth project is a personal retrospective:
1. Mantle - inspiration came from the Pearlies of London.
2. Circles and Cycles - displayed them through painted flowers.
3. Blooming Botanicals - a jacket painted with tulips.
4. Purse-n-alities - a bag embellished with weavings, buttons, and coins.
5. Robes - a robe embellished with a long scarf of multi-colored flowers.
6. Ten Easy Pieces - paintings of my 4 children and 6 grandchildren.
7. Hats - a panama hat covered with large fabric leaves and flowers.
8. Aprons - flower shapes out of hand made doilies.
9. Footwear - wooly boots made from felted sweater, holding flowers.
10. Paradigm Shift - a shift covered with flowers of my own creation.
11. Masks - a plaster mask surrounded by fabric flowers.
12. Umbrellas - rain, rainbows, and a pot of gold.
13. Birds - turkeys, a reminder of all the things we are thankful for.
14. Boxes - some very useful, some not so useful, and one to add to the inventory.
15. Time - Looking Back, I made miniatures of my first fourteen projects for this personal retrospective.
