"WHEN YOU GIVE IN TO CREATIVE PASSION, IT WILL BRING YOU TO THE INTIMATE THRESHOLDS OF TRANSFIGURATION AND RENEWAL. THIS GROWTH CAUSES PAIN, BUT IT IS A SACRED PAIN. IT WOULD BE MUCH MORE TRAGIC TO HAVE CAUTIOUSLY AVOIDED THESE DEPTHS AND REMAINED MAROONED ON THE SHINY SURFACES OF THE BANAL."  John O'Donohue, Anam Cara, a Book of Celtic Wisdom

When asked to create a garment with a botanical theme, I hesitated. I was concerned with time constraints as well as my creative ability to design something unique within the boundaries of my own weaving and design style. Because of some personal life changes, I had not ventured into new design techniques and challenges for some time. But I decided that this opportunity would force me to “stretch and grow.” The time seemed right to add new dimension to my designing skills—and to my life.
