Statement

I enjoy all things about gardens so when I needed to create a garment with a botanical theme I knew exactly what to doI would make a SECRET GARDEN coat.

Making my coat seemed like a fairly easy, straight forward task that would be a venue for the skills Ive learned in sewing, quilting and collaging. But just as the path of life can be twisty and rocky so it was with this project. More than once I hit a dead end and turned around so I could make a new start. But when Im limping down the path of art, or even life, my friends and family are the support to keep me going.

I spent many hours dyeing, quilting and constructing the coat and making the collage. Finally, I reached my SECRET GARDEN and now I invite everyone to sit back and smell the flowers!
