Statement

Mother Teresa taught me that we can’t stop war and hatred by being against them. Rather, focusing on war and hatred makes each stronger. To be for peace, for compassion, for unity that can change the world can be reached through prayer. Further, whatever our words, the name we give our God, even the way we pray (on rugs or with beads or flags) our yearning for peace can bring it.

So, are we pulling this world apart or putting it back together? How do we get back to Eden? I believe people all over the world are seeking peace as much as I am. Further, if each of us finds our own peace and shares it, I believe that we can open the gates to Eden again.

The 12 prayers lining my purse were prayed in Assisi, Italy, on the Day of Prayer for World Peace in 1986.

Pray for peace! Work for peace! We are one.

Finally, a special thanks to Nahigian and Sons for the carpet.
