Statement

My apron creates a joyful mood: "It's all good."

This piece encompasses many aspects of what an apron means to me:

The neck represents the curves life throws at you in the kitchen and elsewhere.

The breast plate shows different cycles: babies, weddings, and other rites of passage.

The skirt represents a fun and fanciful family playing in the kitchen.
I am the center, always trying to be focused, while the grids are boundaries which push and pull in different directions.

The side panels represent the layers of personality, always trying to fit somewhere comfortably.
