When I was growing up we visited Rouen, France, where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. I was both amazed and saddened by her story. She wore men's clothes to protect herself during her military campaigns, and in the end, it contributed to her demise. I wonder what would have happened if she could have worn a mythical apron that offered protection and expression of her femininity?
